february
Synonym discussion
Sense: noun/1
January, February, and March are the first three months of the calendar year. February is different because it is the shortest — it has only 28 days most years, while January and March each have 31 days. February is also the only month whose length changes (to 29 days every fourth year, called a leap year). In terms of seasons, February is still winter in most northern places, whereas March often marks the start of spring. For example: 'January was cold, but February felt even shorter.' 'March brings warmer weather, while February is still winter in many areas.'
